An experienced project management professional, Andrew Jares Oldfield has served as the construction superintendent for Holder Construction in Atlanta, Georgia, since 2016. Outside of his work in the construction industry, Andrew Jares Oldfield stands out as a committed conservationist who has volunteered to help preserve bird habitats at Ballona Wetlands, a sanctuary that’s home to various types of wildlife.
For nearly two decades, the Friends of Ballona Wetlands has maintained the habitat for all of the animals that live in the wetlands. The organization has spearheaded numerous volunteer efforts that have removed more than 450 tons harmful plants, garbage, and other debris from the area. Volunteer cleanup crews take to the area on the fourth Saturday of every month in these restoration efforts.
In addition to removing harmful materials, the group has re-introduced a number of native plants to the area. These plants have thrived in their natural ecosystem and now make up an important part of the sanctuary, providing both food and shelter for the animals within.
